Bernier to return to Lewiston

The Lewiston MAINEiacs learned today from the LA Kings that Jonathan Bernier will be coming back to the QMJHL.  In 4 games with the Kings, the 19-year old 1st round draft pick had a 1-3 record, with 16 goals against.  Marc Crawford, the Kings Head Coach appeared to be quite pleased with Bernier's performance while in the NHL.  He was quoted in the Los Angeles Daily News today stating:  "We always are concerned about the long-term development of all our players and, right now, the decision has been that (returning to juniors) probably is the environment that is conducive to his long-term development. He's going to be a great goalie. He is a great goalie. He's played his heart out here and he has not been at fault for how we've played. As a matter of fact, I think he's played pretty good."

Bernier's travel schedule has not yet been confirmed but there is a possibility that he could rejoin the MAINEiacs as early as their upcoming road trip to Rouyn-Noranda and Val d"or this weekend.
