Clement Jodoin will not be back with MAINEiacs for the 2007-2008 season

Lewiston, ME – After 3 seasons as the Head Coach & General Manager of the Lewiston MAINEiacs, Clement Jodoin will not be back to defend the President’s Cup Championship for the 2007-2008 season.

Jodoin informed the Lewiston MAINEiacs on Monday, May 28th after returning home from Vancouver, British Columbia having just been awarded the Canadian Hockey League’s Coach of Year award at a ceremony on Saturday evening during the 2007 MasterCard Memorial Cup.

"It is always disappointing to loose someone of the quality and character like Clem, as we certainly appreciate what he has brought to the Lewiston MAINEiacs organization,” mentioned Matt McKnight, the team’s President & Governor.  “It was a difficult decision for him; a decision that ultimately put his family ahead of hockey for the first time and I don’t think anyone can fault him for that at this stage of his career.”

Jodoin lead the MAINEiacs to 3 winning season starting with 2004-05 with 72 points in 70 games, improving to 83 points in 2005-2006 and this past season’s remarkable 50 wins and 106 points to claim the Jean Rougeau Trophy as the regular season champions.  Jodoin also led the MAINEiacs on this season’s historic playoff run winning the President’s Cup in dramatic fashion with a 16-1 record.

In the absence of Jodoin at the upcoming QMJHL Entry Draft scheduled for June 2, 2007 in Drummondville, Quebec, MAINEiacs Assistant Coach & Assistant General Manager Ed Harding has been appointed the Interim General Manager.
